The Berlin Welcomecard Museumsinsel

This third plan has an option of fare zones Berlin AB or Berlin ABC. The validity is for an adult and up to three children under the age of 14. It is only available in the 72-hour option, with fare zones Berlin AB and Berlin ABC only differing with 2€. The museum covers one adult museum island, excluding special exhibitions. The zones A and B each encompass of the original city area. The Schonefeld Airport lies in fare zone c due to some tariff changes by the transportation companies. Tourist and visitors arriving from Airport Berlin-Schönefeld would, therefore, require the Berlin WelcomeCard with fare zone ABC for unlimited use of these public transport services.

To summarize it all, with all versions of the Berlin Welcome card, an infinite number of kids under the age of 6 years and up to three children under the age of 14 years can travel for free with an adult. Furthermore, up to three children under the age of 6 years can travel with the ticket holder for free on ferries. Other items such as prams, pushchairs, and luggage are also free of charge. A bicycle ticket is required to travel with a bicycle and a reduced fare ticket must be obtained to travel with a dog.

When To Purchase And Ticket Time Validity

The Berlin WelcomeCard can be purchased anytime. However, for the 2017 Welcomecards, the last date for which the tickets can be purchased is the 31st day of December 2017 before 23:59 hours. What this means is that the latest validation date possible would fall on the 15th day of January 2018 before 23:59 hours. Hence, the latest purchased Berlin WelcomeCard of 2017 expires at the earliest on the 16th day of January 2018, for the 2-days ticket, on the 17th day of January 2018 for the 3-days ticket or before midnight of the 18th day of January 2018 for the 5-days ticket.

It is also important to note that the Berlin Welcome cards validity time are counted by hours and not days; a Welcome card purchased on 1st December 2017, at 20:00 hours with a 2-day (48 hours) span will become invalid from 3rd December 2017 at 19:59 hours.

Some other noteworthy information is that a six-day ticket plan is available for tourist and travelers willing to spend more than five days. Secondly, the ÖPNV (personal public transport) ticket must be devalued in the travel ticket stamping machine before boarding the vehicle. The reductions that you qualify for are also only applicable after the tickets have been devalued.
